Aaron lives with his wife, Katy, and dog, Poppy, in Walla Walla, Washington. He quit school at the age of 15 to study at home, focusing on drawing. His father, David Burgess, an artist, oversaw and guided his study. When he was 18 he studied pottery for a year with Betty Feves, working as her apprentice.
